Society Rules
These rules apply to all waters except where indicated.
Environment Agency Officers regularly check our waters, along with our own Water Bailiffs.
Please be polite at all times if requested to produce your EA rod licence or NAS membership card.
- The close season on the river is 15th March until 15th June inclusive.
- River fishing for trout is permitted during the close season. Fly or lure allowed but no surface plugs. Otherwise worm only, fished on the bottom.
- No air guns allowed on the bank.
- No lighting of fires or barbeques.
- No night fishing, dawn till dusk only.
- No camping or erecting tents/bivvies.
- No fishing from boats or float tubes.
- No fish to be removed from any water.
- No litter to be left at bank side - failure to remove your litter will result in a ban.
- No member shall lend or transfer their membership card to another person. All cards must have a photograph attached.
- Proof of membership is to be carried at all times when fishing our waters, together with a valid EA rod licence. All members must be in possession of a current Environment Agency rod licence and these should be available for inspection when requested by our bailiff.
- No drugs or alcohol permitted, anti social behaviour will not be tolerated.
