River Weaver

Upstream from B5074 bridge (Barony Road) to Whitchurch Road (A530) bridge at southern end of Nantwich Lake.

The river is ideal for stalking tactics, trotting a stick float through some of the runs, or quiver tip the bends and under overhanging trees.

The river holds good numbers of chub, which will be tempted by maggot or lure, and the occasional trout. Good sized pike also lurk here, if you know where to look . One fish of 19lb was caught recently, plus a 4lb trout was landed in the same month.

Safety on the River

Please take care at all times while fishing the river - although shallow in a few places after a prolonged dry spell, there are still deep holes.

Remember

In 2016, more anglers drowned than professional sea fishermen.
